OMAHow to apply

Come build with us

Make technology
more human.

OMA Labs · Helsinki

We’re building a private-social foundation for real life—and looking for the people who want to shape what comes next.

Why OMA

Technology should work for people, not the other way around.

OMA is exploring what personal technology can become when AI allows us to rethink many of the assumptions behind today's apps, services and digital experiences.

We're early. That means the product is evolving quickly, the company is small, and the people joining us now will have an unusually large role in shaping both.

Open roles

Four ways to
join the circle.

These are early OMA roles for people who want meaningful ownership, wide responsibility and the chance to make something happen.

01

CTO / Co-Founder

Mobile, AI & Consumer Technology

We’re looking for an exceptional technical co-founder to help build OMA.

This is not primarily a management role. We’re looking for someone who has spent a significant part of their career actually building products—and still loves doing it.

You should have 15+ years of software engineering experience, with deep experience building and shipping iOS and Android applications and the technical judgment to design systems that can grow from an early product into a large-scale consumer platform.

You’ll own OMA’s technical architecture and engineering direction while working closely with the founding team on the product itself.

We’d love to meet someone who:

  • Has 15+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
  • Has built and shipped sophisticated iOS and Android products
  • Has excellent software architecture and systems-design instincts
  • Understands modern cloud infrastructure, APIs, data and security
  • Is actively experimenting with AI-assisted development and the rapidly changing software-development stack
  • Can move comfortably between architecture, debugging, product decisions and writing production code
  • Has built or led high-performing engineering teams
  • Cares deeply about product quality and the details of the user experience
  • Wants to build a company, not simply join one

As a co-founder, you’ll have significant influence over what OMA becomes: the technology, the product, the engineering culture and ultimately the company itself.

02

Software Builder & Tester

AI-assisted development, testing & product quality

Software development is changing quickly. We’re looking for someone who wants to work right at that edge.

At OMA, we increasingly build software together with AI development tools such as ChatGPT Codex. We need someone who can work alongside these systems every day: building, running builds, testing releases, finding problems, investigating why they happened and helping get fixes into the next build.

This role sits somewhere between software engineering, QA, product testing and AI-assisted development. You don't necessarily need to fit neatly into any one of those boxes.

You might spend your morning running and testing a new mobile build, your afternoon working with Codex to investigate an issue, and the next day figuring out a better way to automate the whole process.

We’d love to meet someone who:

  • Is technically curious and learns new tools extremely quickly
  • Is comfortable working with code, builds, logs, APIs and developer tools
  • Has experience with iOS and/or Android development environments
  • Uses AI tools naturally as part of getting work done
  • Can systematically test software and reproduce difficult bugs
  • Notices small things that other people miss
  • Can distinguish between “technically works” and “actually feels good to use”
  • Enjoys figuring things out without waiting for a detailed instruction manual

Experience with mobile development, automated testing, CI/CD, GitHub and modern AI coding tools is valuable. More important is your ability to build, test, investigate and learn quickly.

03

Project & Partnerships Manager

Special projects, external partners & delivery

Some of the most interesting things we do at OMA start with a conversation.

A company, organization or community comes to us with an idea. There may be an opportunity to build something together, run an experiment, create a new experience or bring OMA into an entirely new context.

We need someone who can take those conversations and turn them into reality.

As OMA's Project & Partnerships Manager, you'll work directly with our team and external partners to lead special projects from the first conversation through planning, execution and delivery. This is part partnerships, part project management and part problem solving.

We’d love to meet someone who:

  • Developing relationships with companies, organizations and other partners
  • Turning early ideas into clear project plans
  • Coordinating internal and external teams
  • Managing timelines, deliverables and expectations
  • Running meetings and keeping complicated projects moving
  • Preparing proposals, presentations and partner communications
  • Identifying new partnership opportunities
  • Representing OMA professionally with senior external stakeholders
  • Stepping in wherever necessary to make a project successful

We're looking for someone who is extremely organized without being bureaucratic. You should be equally comfortable having an exploratory conversation with a potential partner, writing a proposal, coordinating a launch and chasing down the ten small things that need to happen before tomorrow.

04

Social Media & Communications Manager

Voice, community, events & communication

You should be really good at social media—and also understand what's wrong with social media.

OMA is interested in building a healthier relationship between people and technology. How we communicate, how communities form and how attention works online are an important part of that.

We need someone who understands today's platforms deeply: what makes people pay attention, what makes communities grow, what makes content travel and how brands can participate without becoming noise.

But we also want someone who thinks critically about where social media is heading and how it could be better. You'll help define OMA's voice and bring it into the world.

We’d love to meet someone who:

  • Running and growing OMA's presence across existing social platforms
  • Creating and publishing content
  • Developing our communications strategy and editorial voice
  • Finding stories inside OMA worth telling
  • Building relationships with creators, communities, media and interesting people
  • Experimenting with new formats, platforms and ways of communicating
  • Helping us think about what might come after today's model of social media

This job won't stop at social media. One week you might be developing a content series. The next you might be organizing an event, helping prepare a launch, hosting guests, representing OMA at an industry gathering or taking responsibility for something nobody anticipated when the week started.

simple.

A CV or LinkedIn profile is useful, but we're more interested in the person behind it. And if your background doesn't perfectly match the job description but you think you could be exceptional at the role, we'd still like to hear from you.

Helsinki, Finland · OMA

We believe there is real value in building things together in person, particularly at this stage of the company. At the same time, we're pragmatic about how and where great people work. The exact setup can depend on the person and the role.

Our guiding principle for these roles is meaningful equity and relatively modest cash compensation, particularly in the beginning. If maximizing near-term salary is your priority, OMA probably isn't the right opportunity today.
